The former Wasafi crooner, Harmonize, has advised that East African music, basically that being sung in Swahili, to be called AfroEast. The Matatizo singer has said this through a video he posted on his facebook page in which he first kindly greeted his fans and gave praise to East African music – Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, and Rwanda’s music in particular.
Harmonize ‘in the video he posted’ said that he has a problem with Tanzania’s music being called Bongo Flavor, though he accepted the fact that it is Bongo Flavor but he based on African music being called Afro-beat that also East African music should be called AfroEast simply because Swahili is East Africa’s main language.
Lastly, Harmonize played a little bit of his unreleased duet with Burna Boy in which the Nigerian singer sung some Swahili a thing that amused the Konde Gang CEO to an extent of him revealing how sweet Swahili is!! Below is Harmonize’s video he posted on his social media platforms:
