Airtel to pop out of Uganda, Africa Economy soon

Bosses are disappointed by the company’s poor profits picture

India owned phone and Data Company Bharti Airtel plans to shut down all its operations in Africa citing a disappointing profit picture in the continent. Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Airtel, intimated of the planned exit while at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Among other billionaire companies that have announced their exit out of African economy include Shell, the oil giant in 2010, Barclays Bank in 2016 and British airways.
