While the 2017 National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar is coming closer to its wrap up phases, Currently fifth placed IUEA Rally team of Hassan Alwi Jr and Enock Olinga are vying not to allow Mitsubish Evos dominate Uganda’s Motorsport again.
Alwi says he would have backed off and let it go but his love for the Subaru is what has moved him to go for a thiird win this year to add on the Fort Portal and Hoima Rally wins be has so far bagged on the calendar.
“Yes, Fitidis is the favorite driver and we are off the title, but we are taking it as a battle of Subarus and Mitsubishi….. We are not going to let those Evos dominate Uganda Rally…” Alwi Said
In this Oryx heart Beat Masaka Rally, top drivers to compete in Subarus are Alwi himself, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Godfrey Lubega, Dr Ashraf Ahmed, Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane’ and Arthur Blick. However, these will be battling Mitsubishi drivers like Christakis Fititdis, Jas Mangat, Rauf Adam, Kuku Ranjit, Ambrose Byona, Ronald Sebuguzi, Omar Mayanja and Kephar Walubi.
