Last week, Events Promoter Balaam Baruhagare hinted on the music battle he is organising this coming May at Namboole Stadium in a bid to find who is the top legend of Uganda’s Music Industry. He had hoped the battle to be between Singer Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool and Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Jose Chameleon.
However, Balaam later disclosed that one of the musicians planned for the battle asked for money that he has never even harvested in any of his shows.
“He asked for 400 million shillings… I have never earned such kind of money from any of the shows I have hosted. This is unrealistic amount of money,… This shows that he is scared; he is looking for means of pulling out but the battle has to go on. We need to clear out who really is a legend in this industry” Balaam said.
Although he refused to disclose the name of the artist in mention, our reliable sources have learnt that it was the Gagamel Crew boss who had put up such conditions as Chameleon seemed to be ready for who ever comes.
Meanwhile, despite all that, Balaam is not yet to give up on preparing the battle early. It is clear he will name a replacement should current onging negotiations reach a dead end.
The replacement is none other than singer turned politician, the Kyaddondo East Elected Member of Parliament, Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known by stage name, Bobi Wine.
“The show will be held at Namboole from 6:00pm to 6:00am and only time will cut us short. If he refuses we shall replace him with Bobi Wine. This battle has to happen,” Balaam concluded.
