There is a section of fans on social media with a campaign to boycott the voting Singer Bebe Cool towards his recent nomination with in the 2018 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) that will be taking place on November 24, in Accra Ghana.
Bebe Cool was nominated in the category of Best Male East African artist alongside Tanzania’s stars Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny and Harmonize together with Kenya’s Khaligraph and Nyashinski.
According to these fans, they would rather vote for Uganda’s social scene ex-brother in law, Diamond Platinumz, the former lover to socialite and Uganda Tourism Ambassador Zarina ‘Zari’ Hassan.
However, as expected, the Gagamel boss couldn’t just let this pass. He has hit back at those calling for his boycott.
He decided to take o social media to console himself that even though he doesn’t win, the mere fact that he is the only Ugandan male singer nominated in this year’s AFRIMA is already a victory.
“It’s high time you started using your brains not only to think but also to always digest issues so that you too can win….. I wouldn’t mind losing to any of the singers pitted against me because East Africa is one and a win for one of its countries is a win for all. “He posted.
Meanwhile, there are other Ugandans (females) nominated in the prestigious awards including Sheebah Karungi, Irene Namatovu and Sandra Nankoma among others.
