Troubled musician cum politician Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert popularly known by stage names of Bobi Wine has finally found a new venue his much anticipated Kyarenga Concert. It is set to happen on the 10th of November 2018, at his owned beach in Busabala, One Love, no matter what come may.
This is the third time for the concert dates to be altered and the second for it’s venue. The Kyarenga concert that has become a controversial issue in the face of the public was initially scheduled for the 20th of October 2018 at Mandela National Stadium,
Namboole but was cut short (cancelled) within just a week to the show by the stadium management.
They gave reasons of being earlier booked on that specific date for a wedding ceremony that never happened. The singer turned politician then after came out to clarify the matter as to why Namboole called off his concert despite the huge investment he had made towards it in terms of advertisements, and venue booking.
‘Uganda Police never wanted the concert to happen and were doing all their best to cripple his (Bobi Wine) shows and musical career as well,’ – He revealed.

A few days later, Namboole assured the Kyadondo East legislator a venue for his show on the 9th of November 2018 under very strict conditions but the contract was later dismissed by the stadium management again following a request tabled by the Football Association of Uganda (FUFA) in regards to how the stadium’s condition will be towards the forthcoming AFCON 2019 last qualifying home match for the Uganda Cranes against Cape Verde on the 17th of November, this year.
New Venue
Earlier today, Bobi Wine and the team behind the preparations of the Kyarenga concert, Emma Promotions and Marketing Agency announced that the had decided to move the concert from Namboole to One Love Beach Busabala that is owned by the singer himself and the dates from 9th to 10th November 2018.
Bobi Wine disclosed that he decided to chang the venue after consultations with stakeholders in the project.
“Upon coming into an agreement with the Namboole management, we were twice frustrated, tossed from one police officer to another, we this time round hope, police will avail us security,” he bravely said.
He added that it is well known that the management of Namboole and FUFA were forced to frustrate his concert but that can’t stop him from moving forward.
“I know they didn’t want to do what they did, but they managed to do it.” He added
Not yet Done
However, the concert happening in not yet guaranteed, According to the singer himself, the Uganda Police has not yet answered on whether they will provide security at the concert as requested by Bobi Wine’s team. It should be noted that it is this same force that Bobi pinned in a long statement over trying to frustrate his concert.
