CHAN Qualifiers: Cranes in a barren draw against S. Sudan

CHAN 2018 QUALIFIERS: South Sudan 0-0 Uganda Cranes
Uganda Cranes started on its journey of qualifying to the CHAN 2018 championship though the first steps didn’t go well as pa expected after being held in a goalless draw by South Sudan Bright Stars in the first leg of the first qualification play off round in Juba.

It was an impressive performance put up by Cranes that even saw Derrick Nsibambi’s headed goal disallowed for offside reasons where after none of the many chances that were created was turned into a goal including a penalty miss from KCCA veteran Geoffrey Sserunkuma following a malicious high boot in the chest of Milton Kariisa by the Bright star’s goalkeeper, Daniel Khemis.

This means that Mich and his boys will need to put a little more effort in the return leg that will be played next weekend at Star times Stadium Lugogo.

The aggregate winner over the two legs will face the aggregate winner between Tanzania and Rwanda for a slot at the 2018 CHAN tournament to be played in Kenya.
