It has been confirmed that Club Amnesia will be officially closing with the final party set to happen tonight (1st August 2019).
The bar that has been in the business for the last eight years and opening 5 days a week is renowned for offering Kampala’s partiers with a fresh & different theme every night & more.
The development has been confirmed by the Board of Directors together with the Co-Founder & Managing Director of Club Amnesia, Dr. Innocent Nahabwe in a statement that was released earlier this week.
“…..We have realized that in the nightclub business, everyone is drinking from near their homes – mostly in open spaces. Closed bars are phasing out. We have therefore, taken the step to close Club Amnesia with effect from Friday 2nd August 2019 with the party on Thursday 1st August 2019 being our last.” Part of the statement reads.
Dr Nahabwe however expressed his gratitutde to their customers for keeping them in business for all that long as well as the landlord, Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia and his dad Sudhir Ruparelia for being good hosts.
What Next…
The statement further stresses out that the bar will be turned into as a restaurant that serves the local recipe of Katogo all day and night as the fate of the bar is to be communicated later.
“We will remain at the building as a restaurant that serves the true Uganda dish – Katogo 24/7….. Where do we (the bar) go from here? Well, we will communicate our next move soon. But once again, thanks a lot for the support to Club Amnesia; it has been proof that you had a great evening the night before!” The statement stated.
