Express FC 0 – 1 KCCA FC
It has a barren game at Mutesa 1 Stadium Wankuluku till the 83rd minute when KCCA’s defender Paul Mucuurezi forced a screamer through the blitzing Express FC defense, deciding for the game in favor of the visitors to keep their hopes of winning the title race a live.
Express FC boys clad in red kits all way through, cheered up by the un ending roars from their home support (fans) played with great confidence against the title contenders holding up the midfield tight from the Kasasiro boys “as they have been being mocked by the red eagles fans” who were shining in their yellow tops and blue shorts putting up a great performance for the viewers.
However, KCCA FC backline showed a great defending maestro led by captain Okot, stopping all the red eagles attacks coming by way mostly from youngstar Ssemujju and Mahad Kakooza letting no save to goalie Benjamin Ochan in the first half.
The visitors, desperate to take a lead into the break, showed great pressing of the ball from wings, seeing Muleme suffocating the Express back line with crosses though no perfect deliver could reach Sentongo who started on the attacking force of KCCA together with Sserunkuma breaking the game into the first half when still goalless.
The second staff started in high gear, both teams lookig to take a lead, seeing a number of substitutions by both teams though mostly on the visitor’s side.
KCCA FC brought in Ivan Ntege for Sulaimon Akinyemi, Derrick Nsibambi for Denis Rukundo and Vicent Kayizzi for Sserunkuma while Express brought in Sulaiman Jjingo for Joseph Ssemujju.
All the new efforts could change nothing till the 83rd minute when the decider for the game came in from defender Mucureezi’s screamer making KCCA FC take their points in full time, tallying up to to 51 points, to stand still on top of the 16 teams.
