Fazila Ikwaput Nets Five Goals on her Indian-side Debut

Late last month, the 2017 FUFA Women Most Valuable Player (MVP), Fazila Ikwaput together with fellow female footballer Ritah Nabbosa made their push for more glory by securing a proffessional stint in India.

They joined Gokulam Kerala Women Football Club based in Kozhikode that is playing for the first time in the India national women league, meeting fellow Ugandan male footballers at Gokulam Kerala men football club including Musa Mudde and Henry Kisekka.

Upon being received, they were warmly welcomed and also accorded leisure time at the vast Indian beaches with the rest of the players as means of relaxing and refreshing while waiting for the start of the season.

However, at the first game of the club in the league and also Fazila’s debut match, she proved to be worthy the signing after scoring five goals to help her new side claim a 6 – 1 victory over Ghandi Academy.

Meanwhile, Nabbosa missed an opportunity to make her debut for the club due to a knee injury.
