One of the most favorite hangouts in Entebbe town, O’s Bar & Grill has officially shut down operations over financial crisis issues, we can reveal. It has been one of the most popular and frequented joints in Entebbe, and a hide out for loaded elderly foreigners hoping to enjoy quality time with young beautiful Ugandan babes but now it seems no more.
Rumor has it that the O’s Bar & Grill that is located at Station Road in Entebbe Town shut down operations about two weeks back following a combination of accumulated rent and struggling economy in the country.
The bar that has been residing at Gold View Hotel is reported to have been forced to close by the owner of the hotel after management defaulted on rent for months, though the actual amount remains undisclosed.
O’s Bar & Grill problems started last year after the proprietor and Managing Director Omamteker Merlyn invested up to Shs400m in the flopped concert where the Jamaican reggae/dancehall superstar Gyptian was to headline at one of the beaches in Entebbe and later didn’t show up. This is where struggling started from with several employees quitting due to delayed or non-payment.
Meanwhile, this might not be the end of this popular hangout as Merlyn is considering relocating it to another cheaper location and according to our reliable sources, it might be in the middle of Entebbe Town, next to the building that houses UMEME offices.
