This year’s edition of WWE’s biggest show of the year, the WrestleMania 34 came to an end yesterday, 8th April in a fully packed action full of legitimate surprises and awesomeness.
Fans were left divided in happiness and grief as some of their stars like Block Lesnar, Strowman left the ring with the championships while others’ stars like Roman Reigns, The Bar, Triple H lost.
Here is a full recap of how it happened in case you missed.
The kickoff show featured three matches: the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the Cruiser-weight Championship match, and the first-ever Women’s Battle Royal.
Matt Hardy won The ‘Dre, with help from his new bff, a returning Bray Wyatt. Cedric Alexander is your new Cruiserweight champ after defeating Mustafa Ali, and Naomi won the Women’s Battle Royal after Bayley thought she had won by throwing soon-to-be-former-bff Sasha Banks out.
WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar retained his WWE Universal Championship since he won it at WrestleMania 33 last year. The two had already faced each other at the Wrstle-Mania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, that was interrupted by Seth Rollins’ Money in the Bank cash-in before finding out which one was going to be the winner.
Braun Strowman and 10-Year Old vs. The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro)
Braun Strowman and his mystery partner won the Tag Team Title while versing the Bar. Braun who had been looking for a tag team partner for weeks randomly picked a child out of the crowd to be his tag partner, and his name was Nicholas.
WWE Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles
AJ Styles won the men’s Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura, in a rematch of their New Japan Pro Wrestling classic, though this time, it was for the WWE Championship.
RAW Women’s Championship: Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss
This feud has been gross, because Alexa Bliss spent it saying horrible things about Nia Jax’s body and body image, but the good news was that Nia Jax could destroy Alexa on the night and come out on top. It ended when the terrible person saying terrible things met a terrible end. Nia Jax is the new RAW Women’s Champion
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
It was Daniel Bryan’s first match since retiring in February 2016, due to neck and concussion injuries. He teamed up with SmackDown’s commissioner, Shane McMahon, to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who Shane has hated on unfairly for months and months. Bryam’s side won.
SmackDown Tag Team Championships: New Day vs. The Usos vs. The Bludgeon Brothers
The Usos won
Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon and Triple H
Triple H and Kurt Angle started this match off, expecting to see a lot of the two of them in the mixed-match tag match, as Stephanie a wrestler every few years and Rousey who was in her debut were ready to face off.
When Ronda finally tagged in, the crowd exploded! As did Stephanie. Rousey throws her around and started raining down punches while the crowd chanted “Break her arm,”. Stephanie seemed strong though as she got herself out of it and back on top with a counter but it couldn’t help her and her Triple H.
Ronda appeared to have broken Stephanie’s arm applying additional pressure as she tapped out! Ronda and Kurt defeated the McMahon-Helmsley squad in Ronda’s WWE debut.
United States Championship: Bobby Roode vs. Rusev vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton
The only wrestler in this match who hasn’t previously been United States Champion was Jinder Mahal, which was probably why he thought he would become the ruler of America if he had won it but Randy couldn’t allow it. He won it.
SmackDown Women’s Championship : Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair
Asuka was undefeated in WWE with 256-0 before the match and Charlotte Flair was the most dominant WWE women’s champion, as she was a six-time winner and the current champ on SmackDown. It was the the best vs. the best match but in the end, Charlotte emerged to be the act after she won.
Intercontinental Championship: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Miz
Seth Rollins hit a Blackout on Finn Balor, and then followed it up with a Blackout on Miz to remain the Intercontinental Champion, and the newest Grand Slam champion: Every member of the Shield is now a Grand Slam champion!
