With the emerging trends in technology, blogs have increasingly become one of the most effective ways for entertainers to grow their careers especially via online reach.

In Uganda, Music & Entertainment blogs are among the top three life bloods of a number of musician careers. Blogs help in exposure (music promotion), disclosure (timely coverage and interviews) and shelf life provision to fans about their favorite artists through archived content.

The persons behind this daily documentation of celebrities’ life and work are called bloggers however, making up a list of 10 of them can become the most difficult request even to the most loyal fans of Uganda’s entertainment industry. Today let’s look into the life of entertainment & travel blogger Kalema Lawrence.

Early Life

Born to Mr Kikulwe Charles and Miss Nakibuuka Teopista a recognized professional teacher in her home Sub County of Nama, Mukono district.

Kalema Lawrence is a Muganda by tribe of Balangira clan and a staunch Catholic who always venerates the mercy God has showed him right from his mother’s womb.


Lawrence went through schools of St Jude Wakiso, St Charles Lwanga Wakiso and St Peter Clever

Namiryan Day boys all fro. Mukono district for his primary education level.


He then joined Lutengo United S.S Mukono for ordinary and Advanced school level before enrolling to Makerere University School of computing and Informatics Technology

A bachelors degree of Science in Information Systems.


Lawrence started blogging with the Uganda Blog, a general news blog way back in 2012 during his A-level vacation.

After putting in print a few articles about a number of topics, he discovered that entertainment would be his thing. Inspired by a Facebook page ‘Ki Gossip’ that used to provide outlined trending topics about what’s happening with Ugandan celebrities daily life, Lawrence came up with an idea of providing more details about these outlines, posting on the Uganda digest.

After realizing that a would-be general news website was slowly changing pattern into an entertainment blog, he decided to take over his brother’s newly created blog that seemed to be with a more impressive name regarding entertainment, Ugandan Buzz.

The website now fully covers latest & trending entertainment news about Ugandan celebrities. It is also a partial coverage of trending updates for celebrities from Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. The website also provides updates for local unpopular sports such as Lacrose, beach soccer, women football, and netball as well as fashion trends, beauty tips, love & sex, relationships and parenting among others.

He us now a full time blogger at Ugandan Buzz as well as a guest writer about tourism and travel on a number of travel blogs including uganda-guide, uganda holiday guide, Abc African news etc..


Just like many other youths out there, CEO Ugandan Buzz would rather go with an option of offering you a fully sponsored dream vacation than disclosing his relationship status.


During free time, Lawrence likes listening to music mainly of Reggae tone genre from the Puerto Rican, Mexican and Cuban styles as well as Old school rap, modern hiphop, Lugaflow and jamaican riddims.

Lawrence is a staunch Arsenal fan as well as motorsport lover

He also likes painting, reading and watching movies & soccer. Arsenal, France, Cameroon and Uganda Cranes are his favorite football teams respectively.

Favorite Artist

Internationally, Daddy Yankee plus the reggeaton duo of Wisin and Yandel are his all-time best musicians while locally, faded musician Toolman, dancehall queen Bella and Rasdee are his favorites in that order.

Swangz avenue’s Vinka and Fik Fameica are his current favorite female and male Ugandan Artists respectively.


His mother in the way she handles life & people, his big brother in terms of hard working, H.E Bobi Wine in fighting for the oppressed and all other well wishers across the world.

Kalema Lawrence is looking forward to becoming a professional in mobile computing and networks.

Wishes to see a new Uganda of new leaders who care about the people who trust them into power. A new Uganda with no corruption, tribalism and nepotism.

He loves kids and treats them as his best friends.
