KCCA FC Handed a tricky CAF Confederation Cup Draw

The only Ugandan CAF competitions club representative, KCCA FC has been handed a tricky draw in the group stages of the CAF confederation on Wednesday in Cairo Egypt.

Mike Mutebi will have a score to settle with two clubs from Northern Africa in group A, Tunisian side Club Africain, Nigeria’s Rivers United and Moroccan favorite FUS Rabat that thumped SC Villa in the group qualification round of last year’s same competitions at a 7-1 aggregate win.

KCCA reached the stage by beating El Masry of Egypt 4-3 on penalties with goal keeper Benjamin Ochan being their savior for the day saving two penalties and scoring the winner in the return leg in Egypt.

However, Mike Mutebi isn’t much bothered about the complexity of the group, being the first coach to take a Ugandan side club to this stage of the competition since it change the format, he says that the club will mainly focus on winning home matches to secure the home 9 points and any point from an away match will be a bonus.
By reaching the group stages, KCCA FC is already assured of $ 275,000 to help the boys prepare hard to qualify from the group stages to the quarter final round and may be scoop the $ 1.25 million prize money by winning the trophy.
