Uganda top flight league, the Azam Uganda Premier League 2017/ 18 round 10 was full of excitement to fans whose clubs reaped big LIKE KCCA FC, Masavu FC, Bright Stars whereas those whose teams lost like the Caterpillars, Red Eages and Police were left in a moment of grief. This is how it went down at different stadiums:
The match of the day was between the table leaders, Police FC tussling out with the defending champions, KCCA FC at Startimes Stadium Lugogo. Each team played good passing football a moment that left fans wondering whether it was Barcelona versing Arsenal. The Kasasiro boys won the game by 2 – 0 from Shaban Mohammed’s 14th minute goal and ‘Dancing Rasta’ Allan Kateregga in the 85th minute. Despite of the loss, Police is still leading the table standings, on a tie of 17 points with second placed Bright Stars FC separated by 4 goals.
The Wankuluku based Red Eagles chances of staying in the league were shocked after loosing at home to struggling Entebbe new comers, Masavu FC by 2 – 1. Express FC remains with 8 points in 9 games to stay firm in the relegation zone together with Masavu and UPDF.
Keishuke Honda’s Bright Stars displaced the Caterpillars (Onduparaka FC) to the sixth from the second position to claim it via a win of 2 – 1 at Champions Stadium Mwererwe.
The tax collectors, URA FC, shared a point with Mujib Kasule’s Proline at Mandela Nationa Stadium following a 1 – 1 draw just like UPDF and Kitende based SC Vipers did. URA is now in the nineth position and UPDF bottoming the table.
The Jogoos alias SC Villa claimed an away win from Eastern Region fan favorites, BIDCO FC through a 1 – 0 win to make them stand firm in the fifth position while BIDCO is now in the 13th.
Eigth placed Maroons FC shared spoils with now 10th positioned Soana FC while Jinja favorites, Kirinya Jinja SS beat the Western region season ambassadors 1 – 0 at Jinja.
