About Fallen Singer Mowzey Radio’s Personal Life, Education, Music…

Fallen Singer Mowzey Radio left a very big landmark in the Uganda’s Music Industry. His great works of singing, song writing, musical advice and assistance to other artists left many admitting he was a music legend. We bring you a little of his biography till when he went back to meet the Creator.

Early Days

Born Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, Mowzey Radio was one of the main performers of the Ugandan greatest music group, the Good Lyfe Crew together with his singing partner Douglas Seguya popularly known by his stage names of Weasel Manizo.

Radio was born on 25th January 1983 (though some media states 1st Jan 1985) by a woman named as Jane kasubo in buikwe district. he spent most of his infant hood at a foster home owned by a priest in Jinja. this is why he had so much connection with the Busoga connection.


He studied at Kibuye Public Primary School then Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School in Jinja, where he served as president of the school’s

Youth Alive Club. He composed musical projects for the club that succeeded in inter- school Youth Alive Club competitions.

In 2002, Radio studied at Kiira College Butiki in Jinja where he had a two-year break in his musical career concentrating on his studies.

In 2004, he joined makerere university where he studies community psychology and graduated in 2008. while at the university he juggled books with work as he fared as a barber in one of the local saloon in natete a town in kampala. in Nateete, this is where he met chagga one of then members of the leon island crew that is led by one of the music icon jose chameleon

Moses was admitted to Makerere University in the same year where he graduated from in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Joining Muisic

At a tender age, Mowzey used to memorise Kadongo Kamu songs which he would later sing to visitors at his mother’s request and was a devoted lover of Lord Fred Ssebatta songs.

Mowzey Radio joined Jose Chameleone’s Leone Island Crew in 2004 working as his backing vocalist. This is where he released solos on Leone Island Records including his debutant track ‘Jennifer’, his first hit song ‘Sweet Lady’ together with others like jenifer ‘Dagala’ and ‘Wololo’. This is where he met his ‘music twin brother’ Weasel who is also a brother to Chameleon.

However, even though his ‘Sweet Lad’ song was well received, Radio’s public profile remained low which made him popular. Following disagreements between Chameleone and the pair, they quit the group and formed Good lyfe Crew in 2008.

They Become Uganda’s biggest and most Successful music duo

The Good Lyfe group was successful and still is. The two made music collaborations with musicians such as Omulangira Ssuuna in ‘Nakudata’, Rabadaba in ‘Ability’, Sizza Man, Irene Ntale, B2C Soldiers, Spice Diana, vampino among others. Their long list of collaborations also included features of international artists like Nigerian Wizkid, locnville, South Africa’s PJ Powers among others.

Solo Music

Apart from singing as a duo, Mowzey Radio also released songs on his own like Mama, Romantic call, Leesu, Neera among others together with the songs that were on the gospel album that he had just started. Katonda Tambula Nange and Nyongera Amaanyi are the few ones that had been released before his unfortunate demise.

Song Writing

Radio was also a great song writer. He had written successful songs for various musicians like Bobi Wine’s Bada, Irene Ntale’s “sembera” , julian kanyomozi twalina omukwano, wizkid sweet love, winnie nwagi kibulamu, lydia jazmine nkubanjja including most of the group’s songs.


As a duo with weasel, they have won and been nominated in countless awards both locally and internationally from the pam awards, hip pipo awards, uganda muisc entertainment, tanzania music awards, kenya musci awards, BET awards, channel O awards, oscar awards, MTV awards and so forth out of music achievement

Mowzey radio has been one of the richest musicians in Uganda as he had lots of assets in context he was a millionaire in a making. He shared a

mansion with his singing partner weasel, the never land mansion in Makindye Kizungu zone, he had apartments in entebbe, a fleet of cars, 25 acres of land in kayunga and a ranch at kagga kawuka where he built his mother and granny houses.

Relationships and Children

Mowzey was in a relationship with former Blu*3 singers Lilian Mbabazi and the pair had two kids and later broke up due to personal differences. he also hooked up with two white ladies of which he had a son with one of them called has been a loving father of his children as he gave them heaven and earth while he was still alive


Radio’s life was surrounded by controversies till he breathed his last. He was reported to have thrown a deejay’s laptop into the swimming pool after giving him less time on stage and failing to play his song at Late Don Ivan Semwanga’s funeral.

Another one is his mysterious death. All the Eye witnesses give own versions of the story. No one tells what exactly happened, all we know is that he got a brain blot clot and this is what claimed his life.

His paternity is also still doubted. After breathing his last, four men came in to claim his fatherhood. These included a Mutooro, Rwandese and others.



On 1st February 2018, the beloved Singer gave back his soul to the Creator at Case Clinic Hospital Nakasero where he had been admitted after a blood clot in the Brain. Radio had involved in a bar brawl at De Bar Entebbe where a certain Bouncer identified as ‘Troy’ badly threw him on the ground where the head on the tiles to crack and instantly going into comma.

He was rushed by Music Producer Washington to different hospitals including a one from Entebbe, Nsambya hospital Kampala and then later to Case Clinic where he underwent a series of head surgeries but unfortunately couldn’t make it back to life.

Mowzey was Burried on 3rd February 2018 at Kagga Village, Nakawuka – Entebbe at exactly 4:00pm amidst wails, sorrows and sighs from family, friends, families and well wishers.

Though that marked your last appearance on the faces of many, you are still with us spiritually and for a million years to come. RIP MOSES SEKIBOGO.
