Multichoice has unveiled a brand new Ugandan Entertainment Television Channel dubbed Pearl Magic TV. This is the first one of a kind on the decorders of GOtv and DStv.
Pearl Magic is a fresh, authentic channel that will broadcast content purely created for and to the Ugandan audience. It was launched yesterday at the MultiChoice Uganda Head offices in Kampala. The fresh station is at Channel 161 on DStv and 304 on Gotv.
According to the Marketing Manager MultiChoice Uganda, Albert Nga, the Pearl Magic is going to bring additional value to the DStv and GOtv subscribers in terms of resonance with a channel that they can claim ownership to.
“For a while, we’ve had Maisha Magic East that broadcasts Ugandan content once a week but we knew we needed more customized content of our own…… We are excited to introduce Pearl Magic, a channel that is truly Ugandan with a focus on Ugandan content….. This channel also demonstrates our investment in growing local content that resonates with our subscribers,” He added.
Meddie Kaggwa, the head of Content at the Uganda Communications Commission appreciated Multichoice for the new venture by opening endless opportunities for Ugandans.
“We are proud that MultiChoice has set the pace for the Ugandan film industry through this initiative that has opened an avenue of endless opportunities for the industry…. We appreciate their support and encourage those in the industry to fully exploit this platform.” He said.
