Namibia sterilize Rugby Cranes hopes in Africa Gold Cup

AFRICA GOLD CUP: Rugby Cranes 24 – 48 Namibia

It wasn’t a great weekend for the Uganda Rugby Cranes at Legends Grounds Lugogo as the muscular boys suffered their first loss in the 2017 Africa Gold Cup to Namibia, a result that sterilized Uganda’s hopes of winning the trophy and qualifying to the Rugby World Cup 2019.

Though Uganda had little hopes of scooping a point from the tournament table leaders, Coach Duncan says he didn’t expect the loss margin to be as it was at the end of the game.

Rugby cranes started well, leading the first phases of the game, but later Namibia introduced the strategy of using ground balls, a tactic that gave hard time to cranes boys who are mostly mastered in aerial balls.

Rugby cranes is playing against Zimbabwe on 5th August in their next fixture.
