The 2017 National Open Pool Championship has been launched with alot more surprising prizes of up to UGX 450M to be scooped by the different winners plus a brand new Toyota Altezza as an add-on prize to the overall winner.
According to the schedules, the Championship is set to commence on the 25th of August with preliminary round qualifiers that will run up to 23rd September. 15th September – 14th October is scheduled for Regional Qualifiers and 28th October will be the dates for the Grand Finals at Lugogo.
The tournament has been extended to every corner of the country to accommodate as much as 8000 players. The launch was graced by the newly elected Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) chairman Bob Trubish, Publicity Secretary Ngobi and some of the top seeded PAU players.
