NUP Seeking for Fred Lumbuye’s Asylum to the Netherlands

Last week, political blogger and National Unity Platform political party die hard Fred Kajubi Lumbuye was arrested in Turkey over unknown reasons and to this day no body knows about his whereabouts.

According to many, Lumbuye was arrested on orders of the Uganda government by either the International Police or Turkish security forces and had expected to be deported back to the country three days back to face criminal charges.

According to the Director of public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr Fred Kajubi, alias Lumbuye will be charged with about 15 criminal offenses and Police has so far denied the Boda Intel pointing that the government social media critic might have already been brought back to the country and currently under security custody.

With all that aside, late last week, the NUP party sent Mityana Municipality legislator Hon Francis Zaake to Turkey to go and trace the whereabouts of their man of all seasons and thus help him get freedom again without being deported.

Today, according to fresh info from yet to be confirmed sources, the People Power movement leaning party is in a fundraising drive of more than 250 Million Uganda shillings to secure an asylum for Lumbuye to the Netherlands. This amount is expected to be needed by the International lawyer that they hired to give a hand in the controversial matters.

By yesterday, they had collected about $20,000 (about ugx 70m) and handed the over to him.
