The match every boxing lover has been waiting for is here and dates already confirmed. according to the daily telegraph, Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao have confirmed on Twitter that they will fight on Sunday, April 23, with Khan having turned down the opportunity late last year to face British rival Kell Brook.
However, the venue is yet to be announced, which could yet determine whether the contest actually goes ahead on that date.
Either the United Arab Emirates or the United States are the “likely homes” for Pacquiao-Khan, according to Khan’s camp, in spite of reports earlier this week that a “verbal agreement” was in place for the contest to take place in Bolton or Manchester.
Pacquiao, 38, will be defending the World Boxing Organisation welterweight crown, and the sport’s only eight-weight world champion tweeted: “Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted.”
