Round 23: Azam Uganda Premier League Results

11th of April 2018 saw off 6 matches being played at different stadiums in the Azam Uganda Premier League 2017/ 18 and this is how it happened.

  • At Mutesa II Stadium, Wankuluku, Relegation threatened Express FC moved closer to safety of playing in the top flight the coming season after securing a victory over the Ankole Lions, Mbarara City FC by 1 – 0. However, Alfred Leku’s 86th goal didn’t help the Red Eagles come out of the relagation zone but just strengthened them in their battle.
  • At Masaka Recreational Grounds, SC Villa brightened their hopes of winning the League title after beating Police FC by 1 – 0. They continue to stand firm on top of the table with 49 points. The Jogoos’ goal was scored by Martin Kizza.
  • The Tax Collectors, URA FC registered their first ever winn over Sturrbon Kirinya Jinja SS by a goal to nil while Bright Stars FC and Soana FC match at Mwerwere ended into a two goals stalemate from each side.
  • BIDCO FC secured a point from one of the top league contenders, SC Vipers after a barren draw in Jinja where as the league table bottom place holders, Masavu FC shared spoils from fellow relagation threatened Proline FC after each side seeing the other’s net once.
  • In the title race, KCCA FC’s short trip to the Luzira Prisons Stadium wasn’t as much fruitful as expected after a goalless draw with Maroons FC. KCCA FC now stays second on the league table with 5 points behind the table leaders and a game in hand.
