Crested Cranes star Sandra Nabweteme Joins Tho Kar ladies FC in Iceland

Uganda crested crane star Sandra Nabweteme has officially joined the two time Iceland Women’s Football champion Thor Kar Ladies FC on a two year deal.

This is her debit stint in Europe as well a first professional contact, having been studying at the South West Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in USA for a while.

She delightfully confirmed this via her socials, saying how she can’t wait to get to work with her new side.

“Happy to announce that I signed my first professional soccer contract with Thor/Ka of Iceland. I am so excited and I can’t wait to get to work man!!!” She posted.

In this deal, she also got new agents, having signed with Felkrem sports agency to manage her professional career for the upcoming years.

“I want to thank God for this blessing and everybody who has been with me through it all and has helped me reach this point of my life! ITS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME. My family, friends and Fans, Thank you! Thank you!!” She added.

Sandra made her mark at Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, helping the team to two FUFA Women Elite League Female footballer of the year in 2015 before moving to the USA the following year.

Achievements in the USA

Nabweteme has been featuring on the University team while pursuing her studies and from here, she has made a name by overturning several scripts in the history of her University football.

In November 2019, she become the all-time top scorer of the university after breaking Almata Rabo’s record of 74 goals.

Last year, she was named the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Year and the MVP of the GAC Tournament after leading her team to both the regular season and postseason conference championships.

She was also the all-time leader in goals scored, assists and points in the conference and ranked fourth in Division II last season with 22 goals.

Nabweteme also became the first SWOSU player to be named an All-Central Region selection in four consecutive seasons.
