Robertinho’s Coaching Tenure at Simba Ends Abruptly After Crushing Loss to Young African in Kariakoo Showdown
Simba’s decision to part ways with Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves do Carmo, famously known as Robertinho, came swiftly following a resounding 5-1 defeat to Young African in the highly-anticipated Kariokoo derby of Tanzania.
This was confirmed by the club over their Social media platforms on 7th Tuesday of November 2023 in a club’s official statement.
Despite his relatively short stint with the club, Robertinho managed to secure third place in the league standings, amassing a total of eighteen points, leaving them just three points adrift of Young African.
Of the last seven matches under his guidance, Simba had only suffered a single loss, and ironically, that was in the Kariakoo derby. It appeared that the club’s management had little tolerance for the Brazilian coach’s performance.
