CAF Champion League Second Round, Return Leg
KCCA FC (Uganda) 1 – 0 ST GEORGE FC (Ethiopia) AGG: 1 – 0
Venue: Startimes Stadium Lugogo
4pm – 6pm 17th March 2018
Its yet another line to be added to the Uganda’s KCCA FC and CAF Champions League books of history after breaking records of being the first ever club from the country to qualify to the grup stages of the formerly mentioned tournament.
This has happened after he Kasasiro Boys clinching a home 1 – 0 victory at Startimes Stadium Lugogo today evening against the Ethiopian Giants, St George.
The goal that gave a victory to the Ugandan Side, came in just after two minutes of game play into the second stanza, from the nick-named ‘goal machine’ and former Caterpillar’s sharp footed forward, youngstar Shaban Muhammed after being assisted by the day’s ‘assist king’, Mustafa Kizza.
However, the lead did not only give the Yello Boys a moment of happiness but also a hard time throught the game, since they had to defend their lead from the pressing Ethiopian side and to avoid conceding a goal till the Kenyan Referee’s last blow of the whistle. The guests tried to make all sorts of attacks but all were well read by the KCC FC’s well organized back line and the Goal Keeper, Lukwago who turned out to be equal to the challenge to all the shorts that penetrated the hosts’ defence.
Coach Mike Mutebi made different substitutions to keep his side on the driving seat, Talented Julius Poloto coming in for super-gifted teenager Allan Okello in the 65th minute, Ali Okwalinga coming in for Paul Muureezi in the 85th minute before the Goal Scorer paving way for Kaddu i the 88th minute.
