Record Champions ‘Gomba Lions’ Comes in for The Sixth Trophy.

Masaza Cup 2023 Enters Quarters Finals.

The matches played last weekend concluded the group stage for three groups: Muganzirwaza, Bulange, and Masengere.

Two best performers from either group exceeded successfully to the next level. For instance, the first and the second went to the next step.

The quarter finals brings eight best teams, the six from three groups and the two best losers who deliberately performed well and collecting many points.

Bulange group; Led by Ssingo having collected nineteen points (19) from ten matches played followed by Buvuma with sixteen points.

Muganzirwaza group led by Mawokota Ssaza FC with Seventeen points, and Gomba ‘the lions’ came as the second runners up with sixteen points having merged to secure four (4) goal difference.

Masengere group brought Buwekula as top leaders collecting twenty points, and Buddu followed with sixteen points.

The best loser’s who merged making the total of eight were Kyadondo from Masengere group coming with fifteen points and a margin of five goals.

Bulemezi also managed to come through, merging from Bulange group collecting fifteen points and a difference of two (2) goals.

Quarter Final Fixtures.

Buvuma    Vs Mawokota.

Gomba    Vs Ssingo FC.

Bulemezi   Vs Buwekula.

Kyadondo  Vs Buddu. 

The first fixtures will come on 17th-September-2023, furthermore the second leg coming the following week.

The defending champions, Busiro were left out in the Muganzirwaza group. This didn’t make it to the quarters under Coach Ibrahim Kirya.

Gomba Lions remain the untouchables of the tournament having collected five major Masaza Cups ( 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020) followed by Mawokota Ssaza with three trophies.
