Okwi’s equalizer Brings back some hope for the Jogoo’s AUPL trophy race

SC Villa vs KCCA FC FULLTIME: 1 – 1

KCCA FC has failed to top the AZAM Uganda Premier league table today at Masaka Recreation Grounds after their game against Villa ending 1 – 1.
The first half ended of the game 0 – 0 but after the intense pressure put on the Jogoo back line, the hosts conceded a goal in the 48th minute of game play, just after 3 minutes from the start of the second half and a minute after Mucureezi coming on for Okello.
This opener that gave the Kasasiro boys a lead was scored by this season top scorer veteran Geoffrey Serunkuma after the Villa keeper failing to clear his line.
After the goal, Villa Coach Wasswa Bbosa made various reshuffles in his team substituting Eturude by Kavuma minute the 52nd minute and Kamanzi by Vitalis in the 55th minute.
Villa started gaining great possession of the game by the 60th minute, asking KCCA defense many questions giving them a hard time to close all the spaces in a bid to intercept Villa moves.
The last set of Wasswa Bbosa  substitutes was completed in the 70th minute seeing a replacement of Kizza by Musisi impacting a lot more pressure to the game.
The turnup moment for the battle was in the 73rd minute, when KCCA FC goalie Ochan fouled against a Villa player in the forbidden area forcing the referee to award a penalty kick to the Blues that seconds later Emmanuel Okwi converted to make the game leveled bringing back some hope into Jogoo fans who were already struck into dead silence.

The last minutes of the game after the equalizer were for the Visitors looking for the three points but nothing changed till the referee blown the last whistle to end the match 1 – 1 for both teams picking a point to keep their place on top of the summit of the Azam Uganda Premier League on 48 points.
