URA FC vacates Mehta Grounds to Namboole

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) has vacated the Lugazi Metha football Stadium as their home grounds for the Azam Uganda Premier League games to a new venue for home of Mandela National Stadium – Namboole.

Through the club’s official website, the management confirmed the shift to Mandela National stadium after finalizing with the stadium management on the terms, conditions and facilities to utilize.

The move came after concerns by the Uganda Football Licensing Board over about the status the pitch (Metha Stadium) that URA FC has been using for over 5 years.

URA FC has been hosting games at Mehta Grounds – Lugazi since 2012 and the club had an already established fan base from the locals. They will be hosting UPDF FC at the venue on Wednesday 13th September, 2017 at 4:00pm.
