Stella Chesang Wins a Second Gold Medal For Uganda in Common Wealth Games

It is another moment of victory in the Ugandan Camp that represented the country in the ongoing common wealth Games in Gold Coast Australia after female Athletes, Stella Chesanga and Mercyline Chelangat winning gold and bronze medals respectively in the 10,000m Women’s final at Carara stadium.

Chesang made the best time of 31:45.30 to keep the Ugandan Flag flying high while Chelangat finished third to bag the first bronze for the country. Kenya’s Stacy Ndiwa took the second position in the race to walk away with a silver medal.

Stella’s medal is the second gold medal for Uganda, after Joshua Cheptegei’s victory yesterday morning in the 5,000m men’s final at the same stadium. Uganda now has three medals.

Now the two gold medals and a bronze are yet to see an improvement for Uganda on the table of medals from the 14th place where Cheptegei’s Gold had put it.
