Steven Umony replaces gone Kabange at City Oilers

Uganda National basketball team captain Steven Umony has been unveiled by the league champions City Oilers as one of their hot signings for this coming season at City Oil Nakawa in a bid to close the gap of the reigning MVP and Rwandan center Kami Kabange who left the club to go back to his country to end his carrier with a local club called REG.

Umony, 37, has been playing proffesional basketball since 1997 that has made him one of the longest serving professionals of the sport thus awarding him the role of captaining the national team that has recently qualified for Africa Zone 5 Championships finishing second in the qualifiers after closely losing to Egypt.

After the press he said that it is an opportunity to further his carrier with the four years consecutive defending champions due to the ability they have demonstrated to maintain the success in such a competitive league slated to start next month.
