Tax collectors Unveils David Obua as their new Head Coach.
Uganda revenue Authority has appointed David Obua as their new head coach succeeding the late Sam Tim (RIP).
The unfortunate news of the passing of the iconic coach Sam Timbe created a void to Uganda Revenue Authority FC. Following the respectful send-off of Timbe’s body, the management acted swiftly and appointed Fred Muhumuza as the interim coach. The club has delivered a rather middling performance, not exactly good, yet not reaching the pinnacle of excellence either.
As of now, after the conclusion of match day six, the tax collectors find themselves in the seventh position on the Uganda Premier League table, having collected a total of nine points. They are currently nine points adrift from the league leaders, Bul. In their most recent outing, they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bul in Njeru.
Today, the board of directors has reached a consensus to recognize a well-known figure who once graced the Uganda Cranes as a football icon, David Obua. Obua has signed a one-year contract with URA, taking over from interim coach Muhumuza.
The 39-year-old Ugandan sports personality previously served as an assistant coach at Maroons Football Club and has accumulated valuable experience in the Uganda Premier League. Additionally, Fred Muhumuza will continue to play a crucial role as the second assistant coach to Obua.
The former Cranes international will be supported by a team of skilled individuals, including Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri as the first assistant coach, Fred Muhumuza as the second assistant coach, Robert Mukasa as the third assistant coach, Ilic Milos as the fitness coach, Byron Okuba as the strength and conditioning coach, Swaibu Ssebagala as the goalkeeping coach, Joseph Lubega as the team doctor, Isaac Ngondwe as the physiotherapist, Luggya Ronald as the kits manager, and Bosco Otim as the assistant kits manager.
