Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton doesn’t think that Donald Trump is qualified for the White House.
During an interview with CNN on thursday, she said that he is not qualified to be president of the United States, “The kinds of positions he is stating and the consequences of those positions and even the consequences of his statements are not just offensive to people — they are potentially dangerous.”
While Clinton often questions the presumptive Republican nominee’s statements and policies, this is the first time she’s flat-out said he is unqualified.
Earlier this month MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked her if she thought Trump was qualified and she danced around.
“He has given no indication that he understands the gravity of the responsibilities that go with being commander-in-chief,” Clinton responded.
Clinton said Thursday that Trump’s comments and policies make it harder for other countries to work with the United States on combating terrorism. She also said that extremist groups are using him as a recruitment tool.
“We have seen how Donald Trump is being used to essentially be a recruiter for more people to join the cause of terrorism,” Clinton said.
Her comments came the same day an Egyptian Air plane carrying 66 people crashed and Egyptian authorities said it was more likely terrorism than a technological error. Trump tweeted early Thursday morning about the crash.
