COSAFA U20 Youth Championship: Zambia 0-2 Uganda Hippos

COSAFA U20 guest Uganda Hippos (Uganda U20 national team) started off the tournament with a good performance by thumping the hosts, Zambia 2 – 0. KCCA Football Club’s goal machine Muhammad Shaban lifted the hippos by scoring twice at the Arthur Davies Stadium, Kitwe yesterday, Wednesday 6th 2017.

The sharp thinking forward reacted faster to tap-in a SC Vipers star Steven Mukwala’s well laid ball from the right as Uganda took the lead.

Just after four minutes, goalkeeper Saidi Keni orchestrated the second goal with a long diagonal ball. Shaban raced onto to loop the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

Uganda Hippos made various substitutes to get and defend the maximum points. Allan Okello replaced Pius Obuya before the break before Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye paved way for URA midfielder Kagimu Shafik in the second stanza. Victor Matovu replaced Mustafa Kizza in the dying moments of the game.

The hippos is now top of Group A with their next game on Friday against Swaziland, who fell 3-2 to Malawi.
