Uganda Ready to Host CECAFA Women’s U20 Tourney

The CECAFA Women’s U20 championship 2021 is here and seems all is set for Uganda to host it as per details from today’s evening at  Press Conference at FUFA Complex.

The U20 Women’s National Team is getting ready for the regional Championship that gets underway on Saturday, 30th October at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Uganda will host this tournament between 30th October – 9th November 2021 at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

According to Him Nakiwala Kiyingi, the chairperson for the organising committee, FUFA is proud to host the tournament and all preparations are ready.

“It is a privilege for FUFA to host yet another CECAFA Tournament. We are ready to make everyone feel at home. We have always been good hosts & we are sure that the visitors have enjoyed their previous stay in Uganda for the various CECAFA tournaments.” She said

Uganda has so far got confirmation of 6 Countries including Uganda (Hosts), Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea to take part in the tournament. The first teams Djibouti and Eritrea will jet in tonight while Tanzania arrives tomorrow.

On behalf of Government, FUFA has promised to observe the COVID-19 protocols to the dot. All visiting delegations must fully comply and the tests to be done, before and during the tournament shall be done by the hosting nation as according to Rdgers Mulindwa, Member of the Local Organizing Committee
