The Uganda Silverbacks have had another line of history penned down after reaching their first ever quarter finals in the AfroBasket tournament taking place in Kigali – Rwanda.

Today evening, the silverbacks stunned Nigeria D’Tigers 80-68 to qualify for the maiden FIBA AfroBasket 2021 quarterfinals against all odds.
This year’s tournament has been the best for the Ugandan side so far despite the challenges they are facing over financial reasons, having Qualified in 2015 played Tunisia, Nigeria & CAF in Grp A and lost all games in the group.
2017 was their second qualification and also lost all group games to Morocco, Angola and CAF in Grp B.
This year, they have won 2/4 games played so far against Cameroon and Nigeria having got defeated by Senegal and South Sudan in the Quarter finals.
The silverbacks will now be facing Cape Verde in the quarters. Good luck boys.
