Warriors, JKL tussle it out for NBL Play Offs

National Basketball League (NBL)

The 2009 and 2012 NBL Champions, Pemba warriors are yet to join the playoff party and probably continue to register a third crown as the champions of Basketball in Uganda if it all goes well today in the third game of the best of three series against JKL Dolphins at YMCA this evening.

Warriors lost game two on Sunday by 72 – 62 but their coach, Ronnie Mutebi, trusts that they should be home and dry should they put their minds to it against a JKL side playing their first playoff series expecting more from Phillip Ameny, Stenley Mugerwa, Mike Bazangu, Syrus Kaviiri and Saidi Amisi.

“We have to maintain our concetration throughout the games…… We are a much bigger team and should be dominating teams more” He added.

In the women category, JKL Lady Dolphins wil be strong favorites to reach a second straight playoff semifinal when they start their best of three quarterfinall match-up against Magic Stormers.
